Accident of Mitsubishi MU-2B-40

What Happened

On April 12, 2025, about 1206 eastern daylight time, a Mitsubishi MU-2B-40, N635TA, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Copake, New York. The pilot and 5 passengers were fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight.

NTSB investigators are responding and are collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. All aspects of this accident remain under investigation.

A preliminary report is expected within 30 days from the date of the accident. The preliminary report will contain factual information gathered during the initial phase of the investigation. A probable cause of the crash and any contributing factors will come in the final report, which is expected in 12 to 24 months.
